Power Insights is a consulting firm exclusively focused on strategy for the energy transition. We work with the investors and operators building the businesses that will modernize our energy infrastructure, helping to drive energy efficiency and decarbonize our power grid. We do real strategy work – diving deep into markets, understanding sources of competitive advantage, and helping our clients build businesses that win based on our deep understanding of energy, renewables, and utility market dynamics.

The Summer Associate role is a 2027 internship designed as a trial period for full-time employment in 2028. In this role, you’ll conduct research, perform analytics, execute market diligence, and develop the fact base supporting investment and strategy decision making. You will join an elite team of consultants with deep expertise across a focused set of markets, and collaborate to tackle the biggest issues across the energy transition and critical infrastructure space.

Requirements

Available for full-time employment in 2028

Demonstrated interest in energy, renewables, electrical power, and/or utilities

Interest in business, including strategy, markets, and competitive dynamics

Strong record of intellectual achievement, demonstrated through academic success at a top-tier institution

Key Skills for Success

• Deep curiosity around energy transition, business, and strategy topics

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop structured approaches to problem solving

• Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in English, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to perform accurately under time pressure
